Context is very important. I walk to work every day down a bike/pedestrian trail. It gets a lot of use, I am guessing probably over 20 people wait at a particular light every day. Unbeknownst to them there is a great bike shop right off the trail.

Why don't they know about it? Because the sign faces the wrong way and doesn't communicate what it is the shop does even if they did see it. It's a logo with the company name but the name itself isn't the most intuitive thing unless your familiar with the company.

They are losing about 20 eyeballs a day every 15 minutes during rush hour at the very least. Marketing is about being on the potential customer's mind at the time your services is needed.
